Federal politics is throwing up another leadership spill next week – feels strangely familiar.
Another change at the helm will give us our 6th leader since 2007 – incredible.
Clearly no side of politics is immune.
So the obvious question is why?
Looking beyond the rhetoric around policy, public opinion, state elections, knighthoods etc, what is happening to drive Governments to turn on each other so often?
Here’s a theory about the current lot…but probably relates equally to their predecessors….
There’s been a lot of talk about the way in which Tony Abbott has structured decision-making. It would seem to be very command/control, with everything channelled through the Prime Minister’s Office/Chief of staff. There are some very competent ministers clearly quite cranky and feeling dis-empowered!!
It would seem the Government has forgotten to change their game plan. The structure that won them the election from Opposition was a very tightly controlled one that kept everyone on message.
This structure however is now clearly working against them.
How often do you see this in Business? Successful entrepreneurs creating amazing Businesses, only to hold it back by not letting go!!!!
